The Department of Computer Science was created in 2012 with a three year (six semesters) course Master of Computer Applications (MCA). It is a young and dynamic department that takes a scientific approach to computing solution towards real world problems. The program is broad and rigorous with courses in algorithms, data structures, logic, programming languages, scientific computing, systems, and theory, artificial Intelligence. The department is to enable India's excellence in the world of computer science and Information Technology (IT). We are pursuit to advance the frontiers of research in computer science and IT and offer world-class pedagogical and research experience to the students.

       To groom the students technically competent and skilled intellectual professionals to address the challenges in current computing arena arising in Software Industry, Academia and Research & Development laboratories.

About the Program:

       The program aims to train the students from basic level of technologies related to IT industry and groom the students towards high-end technologies, which can help the students to be competitive in IT industry. The students need to carry out in-house software development in their final year and even they are allowed to have internships. Apart from training the students for their career here we train the students to build their character so that they can survive in the society efficiently. In addition, their skills and talents are enhanced accordingly as to help them to recognize their talents and know their potentials.

Student Activities:

Inter departmental activities are regularly being conducted.

  1. Six Students participated in the “Independence Day Essay Competition” conducted by the University on 12th August 2016 and Malay Mohapatra a Student of MCA 1st year bagged the 1st prize
  2. Four teams of 4 members each in a team participated in “Andriod Application Development – Cum Zonal Competition”organised by School of Engineering on 26th and 27th August 2016 and one team got selected for finals at IIT Mumbai.
  3. Six Students participated in “Drawing Competition” conducted by School of Engineering on the eve of Engineer’s Day on 15th September 2016 and Prashant Kumar of MCA 2nd year bagged the 1st Prize along with Ramya Kulkarni and Kishore Kulkarni of final year MCA getting the 3rd prize
  4. Departmental sports activities which included Cricket, Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis for both girls and boys were conducted during the first week of October 2016.
  5. Sixteen Students of MCA participated in Chess University South Zone Selection held by the university on 8th October 2016 and Rajnandan Kumar of MCA 1st year along with Vaishali of MCA 1st year, Anunayana of MCA 2nd year got selected in University South Zone Chess teams.
  6. Six Students of MCA participated in Cricket University South Zone Selection held by the university and KanteshJadhav of MCA 1st year along with Madhukar of MCA 2nd year got selected in waiting list of University South Zone Cricket team.
  7. Two Students of MCA Prahsant Kumar and Rajakaniska participated in Basket Ball University South Zone Selection held by the university and got selected in University South Zone Cricket team.
  8. Rajnandan Kumar of MCA 1st year, Prahsant Kumar and Rajakaniska of MCA 2nd year represented the University in the South Zone Chess and Basket ball Matches respectively.

  10. MCA students along with the faculty support participated in the VISAKA program and conducted workshop in the department and also visited the Kadaganchi village for guiding the villagers.

Two teams participated in the Hackthon 2017 under the Ministry of HRD and one team got selected and participated in the GrandFinale on 1st and 2nd April 2017organised by Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology & Management Ghaziabad, U.P, under the guidance of the faculty members Mr. Farooq Indikar and Mr. Manohar Bali.
