II. RESEARCH PROGRAMME, POLICY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Research Programme Policy Development Committee is a school level committee, the heads of which will be the Deans from the related/relevant schools (senior most Dean, if there are more than one schools under the broad categories listed below). These sub-committees will consist of two internal members from within the respective/relevant schools and two external members from other institutes of repute (national/international).
For the operational reasons, the departments under the CUK are categorized under the following six schools
- 1. School of Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Mathematics, Geology and Geography
- 2. School of Social and Behavioural Sciences: Psychology, Social work, History, Public Administration,
- 3. School of Engineering and Technology: Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering
- 4. School of Business studies: Business Studies, Commerce, Economic Studies and Planning
- 5. School of Humanities and Languages: Kannada, English, Hindi, Foreign Languages, Music and Fine Arts, Folklore and Tribal studies
- 6. School of Professional studies: Education, Journalism and Mass communication, Law, Tourism & Hotel Management
Assigned roles:
- • To establish a favourable academic environment for faculty members and research scholars to carry out their research work.
- • To monitor smooth functioning and timely review of research work and to assure researchers that it is to be conducted as per ordinances/regulations.
- • To encourage faculty members to publish their work in high-quality peer-reviewed journals like Scopus Indexed, Web of Science (WoS), or UGC-CARE-recognized journals.
- • To manage and facilitate optimizing resources through external funding/grants from various government/nongovernment organizations and industries.
- • To sign MoUs with several Foreign Universities/Institutions for short-term student/faculty exchange programs from the Universities/Institutions of different Foreign Countries.
